We are Circles of Confusion, a three-piece rock band from the South Oxfordshire and
Berkshire counties, formed by guitarist Phil Moorhouse in the Autumn of 2009. Phil was joined by
Benédict Bevan on drums and backing vocals and Werner de Jong on bass.
Benédict left the band in September 2010 to read Sound, Light and Live Event Technology at
the University of Derby. His permanent replacement, Ryan Coubrough, joined the band in February 2011.
We play a wide variety of music styles, which includes classic rock covers and originals with
catchy rhythms and instantly memorable riffs.
As a band, we are keeping the use of effects to a minimum, thereby creating a direct and
in-your-face rock sound. We recorded and released our self-titled debut EP in February 2010 and
have been performing in the region regularly since.
Our main musical influences come from bands and artists from the 1970s, such as Jimi
Hendrix, Lynyrd Skynyrd and Thin Lizzy.
Besides well-known classic rock anthems, we play covers of recent rock songs.
Our set list is available here.
We have full public liability insurance and are available for private parties,
corporate & charity events and pub gigs. (read on...)
